美作

Mimasaka was one of the 68 Ancient Japanese Provinces, located in central Honshu in what is now Okayama prefecture. Mimasaka bordered Bitchu, Bizen, Harima, Hoki, and Inaba provinces, and was entirely landlocked. The legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi is often said to have been born in Mimasaka province, and there is a town there called Miyamoto that claims to be his birthplace, but this contradicts Musashi's own claim in The Book of Five Rings that he was born in Harima.
