Yes, you read that right, milk soup. Milk soup is a Hungarian dish that in Hungarian is called tejleves - it's served before or with the meal pending on your household. My grandmother always made it when my brother and I were ill as children till we realized it was making me even ill-er since I was diagnosed lactose intolerant.

Try it, it's good - and cheap.

What you'll need:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 Tbs sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup noodles

What to do next:

  • Boil all together: milk, water, sugar and salt
  • add noodles
  • return to boil for 4 minutes
SERVE!

Something I've seen used instead of noodles is potatoes - but that would made potato soup, but it's a option for variation.

Bon appetit!!
