Ever wonder who came up with the 'dum, dum, dum, dum' intro tune to Dragnet?

Did you guess the Hungarian born composer Miklos Rozsa? Well you're right!

Miklos Rozsa born in April of 1904 in the capital city of Hungary called Budapest. He began studying violin at the age of 5 and through out his youth played with a heavy interest in the folk music of Hungary. His parents were pushing for serious a education in Chemistry for him at the University of Leipzig but instead he got side tracked and began studying music at the Leipzig Conservatory which was the beginning of his long successful career in music.

Rozsa bounced around in several countries for a while including: France, England and finally California. From 1945-1965 he was a professor of classical music at University of Southern California and he also continuted composing various works. Rozsa passed on in July of 1995.

Rozsa played in several movies but also has stock music in several others which some are not creditted to him. His work in composing in films is a very large number over 100 and follows: caution long list ahead
