Mike Krukow was a Major League Baseball pitcher, primarily with the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs between 1976 and 1989.

His best season came in 1986, when at the age of 34 he won 20 games — a milestone of pitching excellence — for the first time in his career. Krukow's effort helped push the Giants to second place in the NL West division, a surprisingly good result.

For the Cubs, his best year was probably 1981, when he was 9-9 with an ERA of 3.68.

Krukow currently works as a color commentator for the Giants' local broadcast. He plays the part of the silly commentator, often making sound effects to go alongside instant replays (i.e., "Woooosh!" for a swinging strike).
