Mike Krukow was a Major League Baseball
pitcher, primarily with the San Francisco Giants
and the Chicago Cubs
His best season came in 1986, when at the age of 34 he won 20 games a milestone of pitching excellence for the first time in his career. Krukow's effort helped push the Giants to second place in the NL West division, a surprisingly good result.
For the Cubs, his best year was probably 1981, when he was 9-9 with an ERA of 3.68.
Krukow currently works as a color commentator for the Giants' local broadcast. He plays the part of the silly commentator, often making sound effects to go alongside instant replays (i.e., "Woooosh!" for a swinging strike).
