Microsoft time

Microsoft's own time innovation used in their software install products. It unstabily wobbles back and forth. Not to be confused with relativity, as Microsoft time can change from 2 minutes remaining to 8 minutes remaining at any possible time. For lack of a better timing mechanism.

also note that microsoft time does not obey the intermediate-value theorem. When a timer goes from 2 minutes remaining, to 8 minutes, it does not need to gradually increase to 8; a spontaneous decision to do so is pretty common.
