Born in 1933 in London. He has 8 novels to his name including The Tin Men and innumerable (well, not exactly) plays.

His Copenhagen concerned the relationship between Niels Bohr, father of Quantum Mechanics and Werner Heisenberg. The uncertaincy principle that bears the latters name is the theme for the play. The ambiguity stems partly from the disagreement over historical facts.

Werner visited Bohr in 1941, when Nazi Germany was in the position to create nuclear weapons (V3 rockets?). A scary thought, but the fact is Bohr did not communicate the necessary information. Whether Heisenberg didn't ask or Bohr wouldn't say we will never know.
