The Metro North is a large train system run by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of New York State. It serves Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester counties in New York, the Bronx and Manhattan (also individual counties), and New Haven and Fairfield counties in Connecticut. There are 120 stations.

The trains are pretty nice compared to the subway system in New York City, and are much more comfortable. There are three main lines which operate out of Grand Central Terminal:
  1. Harlem Line
  2. Hudson Line
  3. New Haven Line

There are two minor lines west of the Hudson River that operate out of the New Jersey Transit terminal in Joboken, NJ:
  1. Port Jervis Line
  2. Pascack Valley Line
