A Hebrew and Yiddish word; these days mamzer (or momzer) is generally translated as 'bastard'. Traditionally it meant the offspring resulting from a forbidden marriage -- such marriages include incest, adultery, or the marriage of a Jew and a heathen. A female mamzer is a Mamzeres.
