A part of
Oslo, located near downtown but not so close that it's unsuited as a residential area. A walk to downtown would take approx. 20 minutes, a car ride 4 minutes depending and the subway 5 minutes.
This is the place where a lot of newly rich computer techies live, as it's exclusive and expensive but not uptight. Real computer geeks prefer Grünerløkka still.
Majorstuen also has a street called Bogstadveien (The street leads to Hegdehaugsveien and ends near the Royal Palace) where there's shopping during the day and a upclass nigthlife during the evening / night.
