A following Anime series, composed of 12 episodes and 2 specials, was produced by GAINAX, and directed by Hiroyuki Yamaga. It was also followed by a second season which lasted 14 episodes and 2 specials.
Storyline: Some years ago, earth was invaded by aliens and the only thing that saved the world were androids battling the invaders. Now the war is over and Mahoro, one of the androids, retires to live a normal life as a maid for the remaining 392 days that she has before she will stop functioning. So she gets hired for a young boy (Misato Suguru) living alone. She turns out to be a wonderful maid and they develop a close relationship. Like most boys in Anime, Suguru is uptight about girls, and this makes it even more interesting (along with some ecchi scenes) as his junior high school female teacher tries to put the moves on him, constantly confronting Mahoro regarding breast size.
