German way of wishing you have a good meal

"Mahlzeit" (literally "Meal time") is a rather proletarian expression mainly used in the Ruhr valley in Mid-West Germany to announce to everyone at the workplace that you're off to lunch (allthough probably first used as an alternative noun for "meal"). It is also used at the table to signal your family that everyone is allowed to tuck in.
