Operating System software for the Apple Lisa 2 and Macintosh XL
which allowed them to run most Macintosh software, by
emulating the 64k Mac ROM. The Macintosh XL was not
really a Macintosh at all, but a repackaged Lisa 2, which shipped with
MacWorks as the default operating environment. Both the Lisa and the XL
could also run the native Lisa OS, with such software as:

  • LisaWrite: word processor
  • LisaCalc: spread sheet
  • LisaGraph: charts
  • LisaList: an outline builder, idea manager
  • LisaProject: project scheduler including integrated PERT and Gannt views
  • LisaDraw: drawing program (predecessor to Mac Draw?)
  • LisaTerminal: modem communications software.
