Music-Artist-Production-Lyric. Four criteria by which a song may be considered ``Canadian enough'' for the purposes of the CRTC's CanCon guidelines.

Exemptions are granted for recordings from before 1972, for instrumental recordings (either the composer or the performers must be Canadian), and for collaborations involving Canadians (since 1991).

The MAPL logo is a circle divided into four sections by plus-sign-like cross, with the letters assigned to each corner. An entire album or each song can indicate its MAPL status to assist programmers with meeting CRTC requirements for CanCon.
