The last moon is fading
O'er the moutains and the sea,
And though I always speak my mind,
My words are strange to me.
The world is my open gate
That I can never cross,
I cannot cope with this pain,
This sorrow, or this loss...

And the moon who sings nightly
On her silver shadow'd stage
Does not care about this little bird
In her crafted, guilded cage...

The last moon has faded
And the darkness settles in.
The whisper'd wind still calls out for
This bird to be let in,
But the world is too dark now,
The moon will ne'er return...
And I will never fly again,
And you will ne'er learn.
