A luer connection is a type of connection frequently used in medicine. It consists of two tapered surfaces that fit together, like a cone with the top cut off fitting onto a larger cone with the same slope. The most common example is the syringe. A needle is fitted onto a syringe via a lure connection. If there are inverted threads on the opposite side of the lure cone to screw the needle into, it is called a luer lock. Otherwise a plane lure connection is called a lure slip.
