Liam Lawlor is a corrupt
politician from
Ireland.
He is a
TD,
Irish member of Parliment and has served 7 days in prison for
contempt of court.
The contempt occured when he was giving evidence to the
Flood Tribunal. His inability to remember anything, except what was already known by the Tribunal was amusing!
He subsequently spent another 2 periods of 7 days in prison for contempt of court for refusing to co-operate.
He did not stand for re-election in the
election of May 17th 2002 and so have gone out of the public eye for the moment.
The Flood Tribunal interm report was very scathing of him and we will be seeing a lot more of him when the tribunal starts again soon.

Well the scandel unfolded alright! He was jailed twice for contempt, resigned his Dail seat and finally he was killed in a car crash in Moscow!
