The word 'Latino' is generally used to refer to a
human being who is of
Latin American descent. Latin America refers to a group of
countries south of the
United States of America.
There are many, many latino geeks, however they predominantly speak Spanish, and so people who only speak English rarely encounter them on the Internet unless they venture into a dodgy chat room in search of a Brazilian salsa partner.
Interestingly, the term 'latino' includes Brazilians, but it would be incorrect to describe Brazilians as hispanic, because they speak Portuguese, having been partly colonised by Portugal.
