Game programmer who wrote the game Siege and started the short-lived company Mindcraft. In jail since 1998 after pleading guilty to setting a 1995 fire where he burned down his house knowing his daughter was still inside. He confessed to this crime on an online support group for alcoholism, upon which certain members snitched and informed police. The story leading up to his arrest is a popular one for illustrating the limitations of trust and confidence in online support groups and in Internet sociology.
