Hinduist deity. Kubera, who also appears in Buddhist and Jain texts, is the Hindu god of wealth. As guardian of the North, Kubera dwells in the richly decorated city of Alaka, near the mountain Kailasa, surrounded by various groups of semidivine beings.

Kubera is generally depicted as a fat-bellied man holding a club and a sack of money.
