An 8-part multi-timbral digital synthesizer with 8-voice polyphony and a 49-note keyboard.

The 707 - not to be confused with the x0x line from Roland - is basicially a simplified version of the DS-8. The FM engines is similar, but 707 lacks the digital effects and only has one oscillator.

Other features are more or less identical, even the smaller keyboard is aftertouch sensitive. The 707 is said to be a good entry level synth, with not much potential for professionals. Juan Atkins has reportedly made use of one, though.
