The latest supercar from small Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg, the Koenigsegg CC 8S was recently unveiled at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show. The influence of Formula One can be found all over this car, from the liberal use of carbon fiber composites and exotic metals to the specially-developed 6-speed manual gearbox by Cima. The use of composite materials saves weight, with the engine weighing only 210kg (the use of carbon fiber valve and timing covers saved 12kg alone) and the semi-monocoque chassis weighing a mere 62kg. The car has a dry weight of just over 1 tonne which, given the vehicle's size, is quite amazing.

Combine that with the 655bhp of the 4.7L mid-mounted supercharged intercooled 32-valve quad-cam V8 and you have yourself a vehicle fit for a road Viking. Standard equipment includes a stowable hardtop, climate control, electric rear mirrors, leather interior, central locking, electric windows, airbag, power steering, hydraulic ride height control, ABS, traction control, GPS tracking and navigation system and a stereo with CD (which you'd expect on a car of this calibre - or price).
