My great-grandmother was a
cook for the
Swedish king. Family tradition says this was one of his favorite
breakfasts. It's a big hit at my house as well.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Mix cranberry juice and water in a pan. Bring to boil.
- Whip in cream of wheat.
- Stir constantly, 10 minutes if regular cream of wheat, 2 1/2 minutes if quick-cooking cream of wheat. THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH INSTANT CREAM OF WHEAT!
- Add vanilla and sugar to taste.
- Whip with beaters until approximately double in size, as light pink in color as you can get it. (About 5-10 minutes.)
Serve in bowls of
milk (it
floats), or just plain, hot or cold. Even if you don't like cream of wheat (which I understand!) try this recipe. It's very good.
