近鉄

Short for 近畿日本電気鉄道 Kinki Nippon Denki Tetsudô (Kinki Nippon Electric Railway), Kintetsu is a major private railway network in the Kinki region of Japan, connecting Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Nagoya, and everything in between. They began service in 1910 with a single 30-km line connecting Osaka and Nara, and since then have become absolutely colossal, opening a chain of department stores at their major terminals, and starting their own baseball franchise, the Kintetsu Buffaloes.
