Kansas State University is a
land-grant university founded February 16, 1863,
possibly the first
land-grant university. As a land-grant
university, it primarily dealt with agricultural issues. Over the last hundred thirty seven years, the
focus has changed.
K-State currently has in
excess of 21,000
students
enrolled, and this
number increases each
year. Alternately known as
KSU, the University forms one of the
bases, both
economic and
social of the surrounding city,
Manhattan,
Kansas,
USA.
