The KDE League is a group of developers and manufacturers who have decided to throw their weight behind the K Desktop Environment (KDE) for Linux. The KDE League was announced at COMDEX in Las Vegas, 2000.

Members include Compaq, Corel, SuSE (my favorite distro), MandrakeSoft, TrollTech, Borland, Caldera, IBM, HP, and Fujitsu-Siemens Computers.

The League has no technical development duties. The KDE League was formed for marketing and promotional issues, whereas the GNOME Foundation has a committee for development of the GNOME desktop environment.
