Jûsô, written with the kanji for "thirteen," is a district of Osaka at the center of Yodogawa Ward, across the river from the central business district of Umeda. The Yodogawa ward office and Yodogawa Park are located nearby: Shin-Osaka Station, where the Shinkansen stops, is just a kilometer away.

Juso is also the central hub of the Hankyu railway network. Hankyu's three main lines from Kobe, Takarazuka, and Kyoto converge at Juso, forming a single line that crosses the river to Nakatsu and the Umeda terminal. There's a McDonald's on top of the station, one of my favorite spots for trainspotting in Osaka. Many commuters change trains in Juso during rush hour, so the station is surrounded by the requisite izakaya, pachinko parlors, and porn shops.
