Accompanied by a crane and a tortoise, Jurojin is one of the seven Shichi Fukujin and the Japanese god of longevity and "happy old age". Jurojin is usually portrayed riding a white stag and smiling that toothless, whimsical smile of the happy-wise.

The god of wisdom, once also considered god of longevity. Often confused with Fukurokuju and is accompanied by a deer - black, not white. Also a Taoist god. He carries a Holy Staff and the scroll (or book) of all the wisdom of the world. He is a heavy drinker and a chaser of women.
