Czech composer and violinist. Born 1874, died 1935. Pupil and son-in-law of Antonin Dvorak.

Josef Suk became professor at and head of the Conservatory in Prague, and wrote (among other works) two symphonies, and numerous symphonic poems, chamber music, songs and piano music.

Czech violinist. Born 1929. Grandson of Josef Suk (1, above), and Great-grandson of Antonin Dvorak.

Josef Suk (the younger) has toured extensively with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, with the Suk Trio (formed 1952), and with the Suk Chamber Orchestra (formed 1974). Suk's playing is known for its soft tone and keen sense of style.
