The automated cab service that Douglas Quaid (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) uses on several occasions in the movie Total Recall. The cabs contain four seats, a talking, animatronic robot "driver" mounted on a pedestal attatched to the floor of the cab, and a steering wheel.

Why, one might ask, would an automated car have a steering wheel? The logical supposition is that the steering wheel serves as an emergency back-up system in case of failure of the cab's driving computer. This possibility seems unlikely, however, given the JohnnyCab Emergency Override Procedure.
