This reminds of of the controversy/conspiracy stuff I read about ages ago regarding the naming of the third Star Wars movie, Episode 6.

There exist even now promotional material referring to the movie as _The Revenge of the Jedi_. Somewhere along the line, George Lucas must have decided that revenge isn't very Jedi-like, so the movie was retitled _The Return of the Jedi_.

The Jedi Code

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no death, there is the Force.

This is the Jedi's code. And to use the Force, the Jedi must remain at harmony with it. To act in dissonance depletes one's power. The Force is created and sustained by life. The Jedi acts to preserve life. To kill is wrong. Yet it is often necessary to kill. The Jedi may kill in self defense or the defense of others. You may kill if, by doing so, life is preserved.

The light side of the Force is the way of the true Jedi. It is a long and difficult path, and will be hard to follow at times, unlike the DarkSide. The Darkside is much quicker and more destructive, but you really should stay with the Light Side, to follow it is to follow the path to enlightenment, and to remain at peace. This is the Jedi's code. And to use the Force, the Jedi must remain at harmony with it. To act in dissonance depletes one's power. The Force is created and sustained by life. A Jedi never acts from hatred, anger, fear or aggression, these are the way to the dark side. A Jedi must act when calm, at peace with the Force. To act from anger is to court the Dark Side, to risk everything for which the Jedi stand.
