While outstanding and legendary in their own right, it was Perry Farrell's attempt to be the modern day Velvet Underground. They only had three studio albums: Triple X, Nothing's Shocking (which won a grammy in 1988) and Ritual de lo Habitual. Apparently, the band was broken up because it was getting too popular. If you ever attended one of these shows, you were in for a unforgettable experience.

Since their breakup in the early 1990's, Perry Farrell has brought the group back together several times for rare performances. However, the original bassist, Eric Avery, was never included in these reunions. His replacement is usually Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Not to nit-pick, but this is my favorite band. Actually, Jane's had four albums so far (6/2000). Their titles and labels, and release years:
  1. Jane's Addiction on Triple X Records, 1987
  2. Nothing's Shocking on Warner Bros, 1988
  3. Ritual De Lo Habitual on Warner Bros, 1990
  4. Kettle Whistle on Warner Bros, 1997

Note that the first album is actually self-titled, and that they released a "live, demos, out-takes" album in '97.
