The method of drawing a sidearm
that is taught to Israeli Defense Force
troops. Since they are trained to carry their sidearms in Condition 3
it is necessary for them to manually rack the slide
to get the gun into action. The draw the consists of pulling the pistol
from the holster, racking the slide, and pointing at the target
The idea behind it is that negligent discharges will be minimized as there is no round in the chamber although with proper training, Condition 1 can be just as safe and even easier to get into action.
This might seem cumbersome to some people but highly trained IDF troops can execute an Israeli draw faster than most of us can do a regular draw.
