I'm going to make a suggestion that taking a screen shot of today's (April 9th, 2001) MSN.com front page could be very worthwhile. Unintentional irony and complete idiocy often go hand in hand with one another...

Today's front page news from MSN...

Is anorexia genetic?

Followed shortly by the article...

Thin thighs by summer

Now this is just too much. I'm not going to get on my soap box and discuss the viability of a publishing diet suggestions on the front page of something claiming to be a somewhat reputable news source - but really, does no one edit this site? No one at Microsoft Network finds it problematic to discuss a new scientific study with very shady findings (11% of anorexics tested have a form of variant gene that only 4.5% of non-anorexics have - in a sample of 500 people) and publish it hand in hand with the sort of image-conscious crap that is really at the root of the problem after all?

Hell - the Thin thighs by summer article even specifically targets women in its very first line.

...As if I really needed any more reasons to be disgusted with Microsoft today...
