It was under the trees,
in the early hours of twilight,
as we looked up at the stars
but have never seen deeper into ourselves.

Our dream lay open in the summer air,
pulled from the ether and made real.
We lay together,
a world between us, but never closer.

That night passed too fast,
but has lived with me forever.
Haunting me and plaguing my dreams,
In a sweet symphony of beauty.

Above the light of a thousand galaxies shone upon us,
But none shone brighter than the light in your eyes.
It was a season of fleeting emotions,
But a lifetime of memories.
