IRman from the Dutch company Evation (www.evation.com) is a very smart little device for your LinuxTM or Windows operated PC. It can receive signals from all IR remotes and send them to the serial port. Programs on the computer recieves the signals and then perform macros or other commands. The device is not IRDA compatible, but at a cheap 20 USD it's a funny little toy. Very useful when it comes to controlling Winamp, and with an LCD screen on the parallel port, you can turn your computer into a home entertainment centre.
