TravelStar is IBM's line of Mobile 2.5 inch Hard Drives. The TravelStar line began with the 540 meg DHAS-2540 mobile IDE drive, and as of September 2001 the largest drive offered is the 48GH, a 5400RPM 48 Gigabyte IDE drive. Current TravelStar drives are highly valued because of IBM's unparalleled areal density technology that allows larger sizes to fit in smaller spaces, as well as niceties like Fluid Dynamic Bearing Spindle Motors. IBM's other consumer drive lines are the DeskStar and UltraStar.
