The people of the Pacific country of Kiribati, and also their language. The language is also called Kiribati, and Gilbertese after the former colonial name of the country, the Gilbert Islands.

An unusual phonetic feature of I-Kiribati is that the syllables TI and TU are actually pronounced SI and SU. Also, final vowels tend not to be pronounced. This gives the pronunciation "Kiribas" for the country.
