Pertaining to, or derived from, hydrogen and iodine; -- said of an acid produced by the combination of these elements.
Hydriodic acid Chem., a pungent, colorless gas, HI, usually prepared as a solution in water. It is strong reducing agent. Called also hydrogen iodine.
