The commune of electronic music and film artists based at a closely guarded location in the Pentland Hills in Scotland, to whom the enigmatic band Boards of Canada belong.
Hexagon Sun is a small collective, working together since the late 1980's, headed by Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin of BoC, who live and work together on projects with no commercial impetus. Some of Hexagon Sun's work can be seen at live performances by Boards of Canada. The film work of the collective is notable for much use of subliminal experimentation, backwards masking, and ranges from the extremely minimal, through to the ultra-psychedelic, and even feature-length narrative pieces.
"Hexagon Sun" is also the name of the base from which the collective operates.
