Fictional author of detective novels, created by Dorothy L. Sayers. Born 1901 or 1903. Educ. Oxford. Peter Wimsey first met her in 1929/30, during her trial for her lover’s murder. Wimsey had 1 month to prove her innocent, and succeeded. It took Harriet 5 years (with/despite Wimsey’s friendship) to regain her sense of worth and self-confidence, before she realized and could admit (in the 1935 novel "Gaudy Night") she loved him. Their lives changed when they married.
