The Hanson Brothers is also a side project of the Canadian punk band NoMeansNo; they sing about hockey, beer, and impotence. The records can be found on Wrong Records.

The Hanson Brothers first album was called Gross Misconduct and was released by Alternative Tentacles in 1992, and their second was Sudden Death and was released by Virgin Music Canada in 1996. Their first album can be purchased through CD Now, or through Alternative Tentacles direct at www.alternativetentacles.com. Sudden Death is a bit harder to find, usually it has to be ordered from a music store or some place like eBay. The Hanson Brothers have a very Ramones feel to their music, and is some of the most high energy, fast paced music this side of Canada. Their songs combine their love for beer, women and hockey into several delightful tunes.

Jack, Jeff, and Steve Hanson are the three bespectacled bloodthirsty and dimwitted hosers who are hired for bottom dollar to play hockey for the Charlestown Chiefs in the movie Slap Shot. The three brothers accumulate quite a number of fans by acting like complete hooligans and beating everybody up including the referees and the crowd.

They speak with heavy rural Canadian accents and are dumber than a box of rocks, but they do end up drawing a crowd, and in some sense they save the day. In some ways they are a caricature of the hockey goon that many americans think of when they think about hockey, although since the movie was made in 1977 many more americans understand and enjoy hockey.
