Small township in Somerset County, NJ, which separated off from North Plainfield, NJ in 1932. Named for the Green Brook which is the southern border of the township. Known for Route 22, a road with lots of car dealers, carpet stores, and lighting stores, not to mention gas stations. Also has a park where George Washington looked out and observed troop movements over the Raritan Valley. Green Brook itself borders the communities of Bound Brook, Bridgewater, Warren, Watchung and North Plainfield in Somerset County, Plainfield in Union County, and Middlesex and Dunellen in Middlesex County.

Route 22 separates the town into 2 parts: reasonably priced, normal homes; and garish, ostentatious McMansions.

mrichich lives in a house in the former part of town.
