The
memory aid I use for
crimping Cat 5 for
10/100 base T.
First arrange the
wiring in the following pattern:
GREEN BLue
Orange
Brown
Always alternate between
colours and
trace.
So after arranging you should have:
Green GreenTrace Blue Bluetrace Orange OrangeTrace Brown BrownTrace
Next swap the OrangeTrace, and the BlueTrace, to end up with:
Greeen GreenTrace Blue OrangeTrace Orange BlueTrace Brown BrownTrace
giving the optimal
configuration for 10/100 baseT transmission.
Crimp, and serve with fresh parsley, on a bed of hot pasta.
Note that this is not the same colour pattern as the IEEE standard wiring spec, but it is the same wiring.
