Godaikin was a line of
Japanese robot toys in the mid
80's, brought to the USA by
Bandai. Godaikins were large, made out of diecast metal, and very expensive. The original
Voltron lion toy was a part of the line, known then as Go Lion. Other robots in the line included Goggle V, Daltanias, Sun Vulcan, Voltes V, Gardian, GodMarz, Valvios, and many more.
The Godaikin line suffered from a high price tag and easily lost accessories, and faded from toy stores in the mid to late 80's. Today, the high end robots can sell for over $1000.
