Type of cross-cultural training program.
Mr. A frequently travels to Mexico City to do business. He feels that, even though he is very competent in his field, he is unable to connect on a more personal level to his counterpart in Mexico City. He feels that some of the things he takes for granted during meetings in the US are missing.
Global Business Training aims to help bridge the gap between corporate cultures so that people can be more effective and build stronger relationships. This can range from do's and dont's (don't interrupt the speaker in a meeting in Japan, don't be insulted if 5 people speak at once in a meeting in Latin-America) to a study of the underlying values and attitudes that shape the surface behavior.
Speaking a foreign language often gives people the licese to insult others in their own language. The general goal of these programs is to help avoid costly misunderstandings.
