A "progressive-rock impresario" (synonym for "failure"), who began as the manager for The Yardbirds (missing out on The Big Payoff when they became Led Zeppelin).

He was behind the early recordings of Soft Machine and Gong, and figured in various branches in the latter's family tree, most notably Daevid Allen's "New York Gong" bands, that helped bring Material and Bill Laswell wider exposure.

Gomelsky also worked with Magma (sometimes literally -- driving them from gig to gig in his Mercedes), and helped them achieve some small notoriety on the North American side of the Atlantic (damn that Kobaia-English language barrier).

Sometime Amiga Evangelist.

Don't take him to Vegas with you.
