Gark was a minor Celestial Court spirit when Yelm was murdered and Chaos invaded. He befriended Nysalor, who enlightened him on the ambivalence of Chaos, so Gark was not afraid of the Darkness or Chaos; and he was there when Chaos taught his friend Vivamort about cheating Death. Soon Gark was travelling all over, teaching others how to cheat death and remain calm in the face of Chaos. It is said that Gark personally (if accidentally) opened the gates of the Spike to Wakboth the Devil, who rewarded him.
