In 1964, the
Beach Boys recorded a
German language version of their hit
In My Room titled Ganz Allein. Unfortunately, this remained unreleased for many years as it was felt that the success of their English language hits made this recording
superfluous. As one can imagine the translation was not literal, due to requirements of meter and
Brian Wilson harmonies. The lyrics (in both langauges) are as follows:
