Fifth album of the popular series of compilation albums produced by Australian radio station Triple J's late-night metal show the Three Hours Of Power. Once again, an eclectic mix of rock and metal acts that has something for everyone in the metal crowd (or mosh pit), although this time around there's more of the heavier genres like thrash and death. While this may turn off nu-metal fans, who are used to more radio-friendly tunes, it gives the album a little more substance and variety and will definitely satisfy the more "hardcore" fans of the metal in general. This may or may not be related to the fact that this volume was compiled by the show's new host, Andrew Haug, rather than the previous host, Cousta Zouliou, who compiled the previous albums.
In terms of quality the album is good, although further listening will be required (I only received it about three days ago from a mate back in Australia who won it but didn't want it anymore - thanks, James) Plenty more Australian metal goodness from the likes of Frankenbok, Dreadnaught, Heavyweight Champ, Truth Corroded, The Mark Of Cain and Psi-Kore. For fans of the big wigs of metal there are tracks from Machine Head, Hatebreed, Sepultura, Skinlab, Static-X and Fear Factory.
