Fscking

Fsck is the Unix tool to check your hard disk for errors. So "Fscking" is the process of running fsck, obviously.

Aside from it's god-given system function doing the file system check, fsck and especially fscking have taken on a darker, more sinister role.

Oh yes.

Your average hacker who always (note sarcasm) tries to keep moderated tongue will use the term in replacement for the more vulgar (and punchy) "fucking". It makes the marketing types a little more at ease, I suppose. However, this marketdroid relaxation can be stopping my shouting a hearty "fuck me harder!"

fscking /fus'-king/ or /eff'-seek-ing/ adj.

[Usenet; common] Fucking, in the expletive sense (it refers to the Unix filesystem-repair command fsck(8), of which it can be said that if you have to use it at all you are having a bad day). Originated on scary devil monastery and the bofh.net newsgroups, but became much more widespread following the passage of CDA. Also occasionally seen in the variant "What the fsck?"
